The Science of Stillness

Breathwork is a powerful, evidence-informed practice that supports the regulation of stress, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms by directly influencing the nervous system.

Research shows that slow, controlled breathing can activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the body’s natural “rest and restore” response — helping to lower heart rate, reduce cortisol levels, and create a sense of calm and safety in the body.

 

For individuals carrying unresolved stress or trauma, breath-led somatic practices can help release stored tension held within the body, supporting a gentle process of emotional release and nervous system recovery.

 

When practiced consistently, breathwork can be a powerful tool for restoring balance, grounding the body, and promoting overall mental and emotional wellbeing
